It was a three-day, three-session sale, officially titled a New Year’s Signature Estates Auction. There was no in-person bidding. Online bidding was on three platforms.
Offered will be Swedish, Finnish, German and Austrian, French, Asian and American furniture items such as chairs, chaise longues, sideboards and cabinets, occasional tables and chests.
Categories in the 376-lot auction will include folk art, furniture, fine art, tools, Canadiana, architectural items, vintage toys, pottery, stoneware and beautiful textiles.
The Rare Autographs, Manuscripts, Photographs & Books auction features historical material from multiple collecting categories. The catalog, with all 455 lots, is up for viewing and bidding.
Day 1 featured historical memorabilia, Hollywood collectibles and advertising and Day 2 was dedicated to stamps and coins. Overall, the auction grossed more than $600,000.
More than 350 quality lots, pulled from prominent estates and collections across New England, will come up for bid, beginning promptly at 6 pm Eastern time.
Mr. Schwall’s collections include fine paintings, period antique furniture, fine rugs, English and French porcelain, china and objets d’art; over 550 lots in all.
The auction contains nearly 2,500 lots in a wide array of collecting categories, at price points that will appeal to both novices and veteran collectors alike. Important collections will be sold.
The auction, over 500 lots in all, will be held online (through LiveAuctioneers. com) and live in Woody Auction’s auction hall at 130 East 3rd Street in Douglass, Kansas.
Included will be portraits of Mr. Woodruff by Norman Rockwell and Thomas Stephens, a painting of George Washington by Dwight Eisenhower, and items from four residences.
The top five MTG cards have a combined high estimate of $135,000. Tip-top among these: a Magic: The Gathering Beta Black Lotus card graded CGC 9 Mint (est $40,000-$60,000).
Up for bid is a wide variety of fine and decorative arts with a concentration on Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern furniture, contemporary and modern paintings, monotypes and prints.
The collection includes Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Modern, and Contemporary works covering a variety of topics and styles. The sale will begin at 11 am Easteren time.
