The top lot was an elegant George I chinoiserie decorated cabinet on a later stand that fetched $27,500, almost seven times its presale estimate. Part 3 of the collection will be held Feb. 20.

Rarity and desirability trumped condition, as bidders closed out a banner year for vintage comic books. Next up for Bruneau & Co. is a 20-lot comic book auction on January 1st.

Also featured will be Judaica items, enameled Russian silver and Buccellati silver pieces; European porcelain, including Meissen and KPM; and Chinese and Japanese items.

The Rare Autographs, Photographs, Books Plus PSA Slabbed auction has over 530 lots. A 201-lot subset will feature important items that are PSA/DNA slabbed and graded.

Expected top lots will include an exquisitely carved mahogany stained glass bronze bar and an oil on canvas abstract modern painting by Sudanese Asian artist Hussein Shariffe (1934-2005).

The online auction was held by American Bottle Auctions, headquartered in Sacramento. Offerings included schnapps and gin bottles, bitters bottles and inkwells, most with 9.5 grades.

The auction had over 1,900 lots in many collecting categories, at price points that appealed to novices and veteran collectors. Several important collections were sold.

The auction will offer a wide variety of fine and decorative arts, with a concentration on 17th thru 20th century paintings, furniture from the 18th thru the 21st century, silver and jewelry.

Day 1 offers the estate of a prominent Atlanta interior designer. Day 2 will feature Modernism, estate jewelry, Asian arts, African arts and vintage posters. Day 3 will contain antiques, fine art.

Included will be property from the estate of Lisa Montgomery of New Orleans and property from the collection of Ronald Ralpheal Levert of Godeau’s Antiques in Baton Rouge.

The items will be pulled from prominent estates, bank safety deposit boxes and family heirloom collections, starting at 11 am Eastern time. Online bidding will be through LiveAuctioneers. com.

The Giant New Year’s Antique auction will be held online and live at the gallery in Aberdeen, Mississippi. Hundreds of hard-to-find items in many categories will cross the auction block.

The curated auction is from the personal collection of Robert and Susan Doyle of Fishkill, N. Y. All 62 paintings are original works; nearly all have been professionally cleaned and conserved.

The auction featured 386 lots, pulled from estates and collections across New England. The Beers painting was a naturalistic depiction of towering birch trees beside a glistening lake.
