Day 1 was a toys auction. Day 2 was dedicated to trains. The boxcar was the top lot in a sale that grossed $400,000 and set new record prices. More train auctions are planned.
The auction features property from the Bishop-Peabody-Metcalf family, the NAMITS collection, the estate of Peter Benchley (author of JAWS), plus several private collections.
The online-only auction will include Dr. Shaffer’s extensive collection of colonial and early American and regional antiques, colonial cookware, folk and decorative arts and much more.
The sale, online and live in the New Orleans gallery, will have Old Master paintings, artworks by local and regional painters, Newcomb College art pottery, silver, more.
The Saturday, September 11th auction will feature the Bryan Beatty collection; the September 12th auction will feature the Scott Vanner breweriana collection – 875 lots across two days.
Fine consignments from other estates will also be featured - nearly 1,000 quality lots in all. Start times both days are 10 am Central time. Internet bidding is on two platforms.
It was a well-received auction with a wide variety of items that appealed to a broad range of bidders. Strong prices were a good indication that the industry is thriving.
The main auction, at 11 am, will have estate jewelry, watches, original artworks, sterling silver, baseball memorabilia, coins, stamps, musical instruments, American furniture and collectibles.
The auction is being conducted by Absolute Auction & Realty, based in Pleasant Valley, N. Y. It’s a great opportunity for people to bid on, and own, real estate. Starting bids are just $100.
Up for bid will be more than 450 lots, including Marvel Comics rarities and other comic books, Pokémon items, TCG collectibles, Steiff animals, dolls and Mattel Hot Wheels.

Offered will be works on paper, original oil paintings, a 75-piece glass collection (including Galle), Asian ceramics and more, starting at 10 am Eastern time.
The auction will be held online and live at the gallery in Aberdeen, Miss. Hundreds of hard-to-find items in today’s market will cross the auction block, nearly 450 quality lots in all.
With a stout pre-sale estimate of $40,000-$60,000, the painting is a strong pick for top lot of the auction. Husain was one of the most celebrated Indian artists of the 20th century.
