To apply for a visa, you must be 18 years or above. A student must have enrolled in a course accepted by the higher education institution to avail student visa. Depending upon the tenure of your course, you might apply for a short-stay visa valid for 3 months and a long-stay visa for a course spanning more than 6 months.

With a short-stay visa, students may pursue internships, training programmes, conferences and corporate meetings. If you’re travelling to France on a long-stay visa, you will be able to pursue a degree course. Since this visa is valid for a year, students are required to apply for the residence permit. Only upon fulfilling the France study visa requirements, the application is approved. The documents to be submitted are-

• A passport that is valid for at least 3 months longer than the date of your departure back to country land.

The amount payable for the application of visa is 50 Euros for some countries. The amount varies according to the nationality of the student. Remember, the long-stay visa application along with the documents must be submitted before a month of your leaving to France. Also, a student is not allowed to apply for more than 3 months in advance to the departure.
