Not only that, but you'll probably reach those goals much faster and easier with a coach.
But here's the thing - you need to find a coach who is perfect for YOU!
Not all coaches are right for all writers.
Most coaches will offer a complimentary consultation, giving you time to ask questions and get to know each other. Take full advantage of this session. Develop a list of questions ahead of time that you want to ask the coach during the consultation.
how to become a writer without a degree
Most experienced coaches have worked with a wide variety of clients. Generally, they can tell from the initial consultation whether or not they will be able to meet the needs and requests of the potential client.
A good coach won't try to talk you into hiring him. He will answer any questions you might have about the coaching process. And, generally, the coach will let you know how you will be coached - through email, telephone, in-person; how often you will meet or communicate each week; what you can expect during the coaching process, etc.
If you need MORE than what the coach has outlined in this initial consultation, discuss your additional needs with the coach right then. You just might discover that this is NOT the coach for you. And, if it isn't, you won't hurt the coach's feelings by telling him so. A good coach realizes that not every coach is right for every person.
Keep searching until you find the coach who is PERFECT for you! For the coaching process to work effectively, both the coach and the client need to be a perfect match!
