Of course, your guests don’t need to know all the details of the wedding preparation. But there are some things they should know and be prepared for. It will help you make a great ceremony, plan a dress code and accommodate your guests.
For the overall picture of the wedding to be harmonious, it is important that not only the bridesmaid’s' and the groom's men outfits match the chosen color palette, but also the clothes of guests should be appropriate as well. Do not limit guests to 1-2 colors. If you don’t plan a stylized themed wedding, it is better to designate a color scheme within which they can choose the shade that suits them best.
And even if you do not have a clear color palette at your wedding, do not forget to discuss with your guests preferred style of clothing - black tie, cocktail or casual. You can submit your wishes in the accompanying invitation card, on the wedding website or in person.
If your wedding has a hashtag - let all the guests know about it! Specify it in the invitation or on the wedding website, and on a festive day, place it in the welcome zone, near the seating area or in the photo zone - where the maximum number of people will see it before the banquet begins.
All guests involved in the ceremony should, at a minimum, know its script, timing and their role in it, and as a maximum - take part in the rehearsal in order to have a clear idea of who goes after whom, where to stand and what to say. What the dad of the bride does after taking her to the altar, where the bridesmaids and the groom's friends should stand, who brings the rings are simple questions that should be discussed in advance to avoid awkward stumbles at the crucial moment. Also, let your wedding photographer know about ceremony timeline, it will help him/her to take better pictures.
If you are planning a wedding in nature, probably in addition to the classic shoes that you wear to the ceremony, you have already chosen comfortable flat shoes for the evening dances and active entertainment. Remind your friends! Walking through the grass, sand or rocky paths on the heels is not very pleasant.
This issue is paramount for guests coming to the wedding from other cities or even countries. If the wedding takes place in a country hotel, the best solution would be to book a few rooms in it - so guests will comfortably spend the night after the wedding, avoiding unnecessary traveling. In addition, some hotels offer favorable conditions for the newlyweds. If you plan to party in a restaurant in the city, choose a hotel for guests closer to the wedding venue. And do not forget to prepare for them the route to the hotel and from the hotel to the restaurant.
Retelling the wedding program to each guest is not necessary, but it will be useful to report on the planned events before and after the wedding. For example, how many days the wedding will last and who is invited. At magnificent celebrations, a rehearsal dinner is becoming more and more popular. This is a great opportunity to acquaint guests with each other. The atmosphere on the wedding day is more friendly and relaxed. And this is especially true for weddings abroad in the weekend format. Think about how to occupy guests not only on the wedding day but also during the whole time of their stay in a new country or city.
