Welcome to the Animal Hospital of Niskayuna! Our hospital was established in 1936, originally as the Friderici Animal Hospital.

We offer the highest standards of veterinary care and each staff member is dedicated to improving the quality of life of your pets. We are a member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and can boast of accredited status for more than 60 years. This ensures that we adhere to the highest standards of care for your pets that the profession can offer. Only 17% of animal hospitals in the USA are accredited, and we are one of only 10 hospitals nationwide that have been accredited for so long.

We are a fully-equipped, full-service veterinary hospital that offers surgery, in-house laboratory tests, radiography, and ultrasonography on our premises. We have the awareness that there are avenues of therapy to help your pets that the mainstream may not yet acknowledge. Dr. Scharf has been practicing veterinary acupuncture since 1988. He also took Richard Pitcairn's professional course in veterinary homeopathy in 2000.

We furthermore are able to offer such an array of services and still maintain that personal touch that only a small practice can offer. Our mission is to ensure the greatest well-being of your pets while maintaining your highest satisfaction. We take care of your pets as if they were our own! Our hospital provides handicapped access for both people and pets.
