The February 8th auction is packed with 325 lots of Canadiana, pottery and stoneware, textiles, art glass, lamps and lighting. The February 9th sale has 74 lots of post-war Canadian folk art.

The categories include mining, gold, numismatics, scripophily, Native Americana, railroadiana, philatelic and Americana. Day 4 will be a timed-only session.

In all, close to 800 premier lots crossed the auction block. January 15th featured many fine Asian items, while January 16th showcased a wonderful array of fine art from many established estates.

Expected top lots include a Wedgwood vase marked Fairyland Lustre in the Dragon King pattern and an equally beautiful bulbous French Cameo vase signed Galle in the Morning Glory pattern.

The Modernism, Photography & African American Art auction will feature an outstanding selection of works from renowned artists across multiple disciplines, over 400 lots in all, starting at 10 am.

Sold at the event was a pair of 1871 documents appointing the melter and refiner to the Carson City, Nevada Mint, one signed by President Ulysses S. Grant ($15,625).

Top lots included a late 18th/early 19th century Quebec arbalète commode, original folk art paintings by Maud Lewis and Joe Norris, and a Samuel Bricker tall walnut chest of drawers.

Offered will be vintage signs for Indian Motorcycles, Texaco Marine Motor Oil, Red Indian Motor Oil and Pepsi-Cola, plus push bars and door push signs.
