The initiative focuses on early detection, public education, and community mobilization—empowering students, faculty, and local residents to take proactive steps against oral cancer.

With India having the highest number of oral cancer patients globally, the mission is urgent: Reduce the incidence of oral cancer through education, self-examination, and early intervention.

Mission: Oral Cancer Free India

Part of the national “Two-Minute Self-Check” movement, the campaign encourages individuals to examine themselves and loved ones—especially those using tobacco, gutkha, supari, or pan masala—for early signs of oral cancer. These signs include red or white patches, persistent ulcers, restricted mouth opening due to buccal fibrosis, tongue immobility, burning sensations while eating, and dryness of the mouth.

* Oral Cancer Ambassadors: Students and faculty trained to become ambassadors and advocates for oral cancer awareness and prevention.

* Awareness Seminars: Led by Dr. Kartavya Agravat, covering risk factors like tobacco, alcohol, HPV, and self-examination techniques.

* Live Demonstrations: Real-time education on how chewing tobacco products leads to Oral Submucous Fibrosis (OSMF) and restricted mouth opening.

* Hands-On Training: Step-by-step guidance on conducting a two-minute oral self-check using visual guides and slideshows.

* Multilingual Education Materials: Brochures, posters, and videos distributed in Gujarati, Hindi, and English.

* Preventive Action: Guidance on how to support family and friends showing signs of oral health issues and encourage them to seek help.
