Meet Avril Piera and Paris Ofe, the twin sisters who built a social platform to make people

Newsdesk, April 18, 2025 - At a time where social media often feels like a race for attention, two teenage sisters are rewriting the script.

Avril Piera and Paris Ofe, twin sisters and high school students, are the creators of Fearless Identities, a new kind of social platform where users can share their achievements anonymously, without the pressure of likes or followers. Coded entirely from scratch using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, the site was built by the girls themselves.

They want people to know that they matter, even when no one’s watching. That every win, no matter how small, deserves to be celebrated. They believe that in a digital world driven by comparison, there should be a place where kindness leads and every voice is listened to regardless of fame.

The idea for Fearless Identities was born out of frustration, but also hope. Avril and Paris saw how social platforms often create pressures to be perfect, especially for young people of color who don’t always see themselves represented or celebrated in online spaces. The name Fearless Identities speaks to the courage it takes to simply be yourself in a world that constantly demands perfection from people. Instead of competition, Fearless Identities  offers community.

Users can post anonymously in the “Post” section, they can share anything like passing an exam, starting therapy or launching a business. There's also a “News” section where users can read positive stories and successes to keep them motivated in their career and dreams.

Every line of Fearless Identities was built by the sisters themselves. This isn’t a no-code, drag-and-drop site. Paris handled the design and front-end experience, ensuring the platform looked and felt welcoming. Avril, on the other hand, built the back-end infrastructure.

Black girls in tech only make up about 3% of the industry. There is not much representation. They say even when they tell people they code, they assume they’re just using website builders. They don’t expect them to be writing code from scratch, and that is something they are trying to change for everyone.

Fearless Identities prioritizes community over virality. Algorithms on many social media sites make it easy for people to fall into the trap of being extreme in order to get views, and Fearless Identities wants to embrace people being themselves and being appreciated for it. It’s about reminding people that being seen doesn't have to come at the cost of self-respect.

Avril and Paris aren’t done. They dream of growing Fearless Identities into a larger platform with more features, and even hope to develop a mobile app in the future. They also want to reach schools and community organizations to help teens and young adults understand how powerful they already are without having to sacrifice values to get attention.

Most of all, they want to keep proving that girls belong in this space. They want a kinder internet and a generation of girls who feel empowered to take up space in STEM, not just as users, but as creators and innovators.
