Gaza (April 28, 2024) – A Palestinian family in Gaza is clinging to a thread of hope. With war raging around them, they've been forced to evacuate within Gaza three times already, but the danger is relentless.  They are especially worried about their elderly parents, whose health is fragile – both battling cancer and diabetes.

This brave family, namely ManalShamallakh, Mahmoud Shamallakh, and their kids, are pleading for your help. Through a GoFundMe campaign, they are desperately seeking funds to evacuate to Egypt. The money raised will cover crossing fees and temporary living expenses in Egypt until they can find a more permanent safe haven.

"The situation here is critical," says the campaign organizer. "We fear for our lives every day, especially for our parents who can't withstand the stress and lack of proper medical care. To say we are in dire straits is a massive understatement.”

The ongoing conflict has taken a devastating toll on the children. Mahmoud has lost close to two dozen extended family members, many of whom were little kids. His own children are suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Chronic Anxiety that awakens them screaming everytime they try to sleep. Evacuating to a safe environment will not only help them avoid the obvious but also assist them in rebuilding life afresh, starting from scratch. 

Evacuating Gaza is their only chance to escape the constant threat of violence and find the medical attention their parents critically need.
