Rapper SKG Helecia Choyce Makes a Splash with Her Inaugural Back 2 School Drive

LOS ANGELES, CA, SEPTEMBER 27, 2023 – In a heartwarming display of generosity and community spirit, renowned female rapper SKG also known as Helecia Choyce, marked a significant milestone by hosting her very first annual Back 2 School Drive in Los Angeles, California. The event, which took place recently, not only showcased SKG's commitment to philanthropy but also served as a shining example of unity and giving back.

Partnering with Memphis' own "Karma,'' who generously donated over 300 backpacks and made a substantial monetary contribution to the cause, SKG's company, Hustle Gurl Ent., orchestrated an event that touched the lives of countless students and families in need. The Back 2 School Drive was made possible through the support of esteemed sponsors, including UGGTV, Boss Angeles Certified, Girlfriends and Champagne, Hands of Furey, One Legacy, and Titanium Healthcare Services.

Adding star power to the event, the Back 2 School Drive was hosted by the charismatic Actor and Comedian Giovanni W. Notable volunteers included SheRise Ford, The Six Foot Publicist and CEO of The SheRise Enterprise, Legendary Championship Boxer Zab Judah, Comedian Hope Flood, Actress Yelani Sinclair, Author Stanley James II, and Stylist Dwen Curry.

Together, this remarkable group of individuals provided essential resources to young students and families, including healthcare services, distribution of shoes, hygiene kits, backpacks, and back-to-school supplies. The day was filled with excitement as attendees enjoyed cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones, gaming trucks, food trucks, ice cream, and inflatable games for the kids. Parents also had their special moments with the massage station and a champagne & wine bar, graciously provided by "Girlfriends and Champagne."

Author and Hip-Hop artist SKG, born Helecia Choyce, hails from Los Angeles, California. She entered the music industry at thirteen and was discovered by Suge Knight in 2001, signing a major deal with Death Row Records. Her track "Let em Have it" on Tupac Shakur's "Until The End of Time" went to #4 on the charts, earning her a Platinum Plaque. In 2004, she left Death Row Records and now resides in Los Angeles with her family.
