Valencia, California – Eye care doctor Dr. Nathan Abraham is on a long-term mission to improve his patients' vision with a customized approach and by utilizing the latest in eye care technology.
Dr. Abraham offers several services and procedure options at the Abraham Eye Center in Valencia, Santa Clarita Valley. Comprehensive eye exams are an essential part of preventive health care and, as a result, can highlight unknown problems that may exist.
"Many eye and vision problems have no obvious signs or symptoms," said Dr. Abraham. "Early diagnosis and treatment of eye and vision problems are important for maintaining good vision and eye health, and when possible, preventing vision loss."
With his vast experience, Dr. Abraham specializes in cataract, cornea and refractive surgery, corneal crosslinking, dry eye assessments and treatment, diagnosis of glaucoma and minimally invasive surgery. The team also performs eye exams to evaluate eye conditions, including diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration.
Dr. Abraham has been involved in several clinical trials, focusing on enhancements in cataract and LASIK surgery. Additionally, he was the first surgeon in Central Illinois to implant the only FDA-approved trifocal lens during cataract surgery.
He is also one of the few board-certified ophthalmologists in the area that provides corneal crosslinking, an FDA-approved protocol for Keratoconus, an eye condition in which the cornea weakens and thins over time, causing optical irregularity of the cornea. Keratoconus can result in significant visual loss and may lead to corneal transplant in severe cases.
Dr. Abraham is a Southern California native and obtained his Bachelor of Sciences degree from the University of California. He then earned a Master's degree in Microbiology from Loma Linda University, followed by an MD degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine.
He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, CA. He then went on to his ophthalmology training at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Abraham continued his training by completing a fellowship in Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive Surgery at the prestigious UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute in Los Angeles, CA.
'My Vision Is to Improve Sight!' is the slogan Dr. Abraham created, trademarked, and uses as his guide to patient care. His ophthalmology professional work experience led him to Central Illinois, where he served as a comprehensive ophthalmologist at the Carle Hospital Eye Department in Champaign/Urbana, IL. During his year in the Midwest, Dr. Abraham treated thousands of patients and performed over 300 surgeries.
He later returned to Los Angeles where he founded the Abraham Eye Center as a solo practice ophthalmologist in March 2021. Dr. Abraham is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of the American Association of Ophthalmology.
His work at Abraham Eye Center has received five-star testimonials from many patients. Javier Padilla commented: “I was referred to Dr. Abraham by my optometrist. Dr. Abraham was professional and courteous. I went into his office for what I thought was going to be a quick exam. He performed several exams and he took the time to explain the purpose of every test he did. I really do feel fortunate I was referred to him. He was able to diagnose my condition at an early stage. He took the time to explain his findings and the treatment for my condition.”
Jacob Tucker added: “Very professional yet warm and easy to talk to. He was very thorough and efficient in his procedures and made sure I was comfortable throughout. He did an amazing job explaining his findings and ensuring that I get the proper treatment. Definitely recommend!”
