Trauma Help for Women (THW) is hosting its second annual Drive-Up Halloween Scavenger Hunt, a free and safe event for families. Trauma Help for Women (THW) is holding the event on Oct. 30th starting at 5 p.m., with various parking lots around St. George featuring "secret locations with designated themed parked cars" where participants can receive candy. The organization provides access to community resources and peer-to-peer support for women who have survived physical, sexual and emotional abuse. Events are created to build self-esteem and a sense of community among trauma survivors. “Last year’s event was such a success that we decided to do it again, it is not only a fun event for the local community but it also helps to raise awareness about what we do, how we help and how to spot - even prevent- abuse of all types,” said Tracy Walker, Founder of THW. Most holiday events can be filled with more trepidation than cheer for those who have survived abuse and are victims of trauma. Statistically, holidays can be triggers for many abuse and trauma survivors, which is why Trauma Help for Women wants to offer a safe event that changes the experience of holidays for women and their families.

“This year we want to have our clients attend and anyone else in the community who may need our services or who simply wants to help us spread the word about what we do. Since last year went so well, we are keeping the same elements but are expecting a slightly larger crowd. All are welcomed to help us promote a safe, fun time,” finished Walker.
Trauma Help for Women's Halloween event will start at 5 pm on October 30. The downloadable scavenger hunt map to drive for treats is available on the organization's website. The website also offers a calendar of resources for women who may be seeking support and to break the cycle of lingering effects and lifestyle choices associated with recovering from abuse, violence and trauma. Tracy Walker, as well as the other board members who make up THW, are available for feature interviews and quotes on a variety of topics related to trauma, mental health, and victim advocacy services and resources.
