7Saachi is an unknown artist who uses one of 3 elements of technology to enhance his physical art. Quick Response Codes, Near Field Communication and Augmented Reality. He is said to be the pioneer of this type of art and has no social media accounts or online presence. His art is “found” by spotting a 7Saachi NFC Tag stuck on a crosswalk, bus stop, airport, or your local pub bathroom. You tap your phone on the tags (like you would when using Apple Pay) and a prewritten email is launched on your phone with the location that you found the tag. Send the email, and if you were the first to find that specific tag, then you will receive an original 7Saachi artwork. It seems to be that simple. The hard part is finding the tags and getting to them first. What happens if you find a tag and it has already been claimed by someone else? Apparently 7Saachi will mail you a physical catalog with some of his work since it is not posted anywhere online. People on social media have claimed to have received original 7Saachi art but none have been verified, which I’m sure would be hard to do since there is no way to reach the artist himself.
All 3 technology methods used by 7Saachi seems to imply the bridging of the gap between the digital and the physical world. Using printed static paintings, to say more than what meets the eye. Interesting concept to say the least.
