Asbestos Testing Englewood CO is extremely important in determining whether or not you have been exposed to asbestos in your workplace. Without asbestos testing, many serious illnesses could be deadly. Asbestos Testing can be done by many different companies.

Asbestos Testing can help identify if you have been exposed to Asbestos. Asbestos can cause many different health related problems including asbestosis, lung disease, and even cancer. Asbestosis is a serious form of lung disease caused when someone has an Asbestos related lung disease. Asbestosis occurs as a result of inhaling Asbestos related material. Asbestosis is not only dangerous for the person that has developed Asbestosis it is also dangerous for those around them that have inhaled the Asbestos materials that have gotten into their lungs.

When you do Asbestos Testing, there are a couple of different methods that can be used. The most common method to test for Asbestos is by sending the material through a fine mesh wire. In this method, the material is examined from above and below. Another type of Asbestos Testing is to have a non destructive device drop the material and then inspect it from above and below for Asbestos.

All new building materials that are being placed into any structure that has Asbestos in them must have an Asbestos Testing Certificate before they can be placed into the structure. All pre-existing structures that contain asbestos must have an Asbestos Removal Certificate before new construction can take place. This means that all masonry, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofing must have an Asbestos Testing Certificate before they can be touched. A typical inspection would include a visual inspection, scanning electron microscopy, and/or a radio-frequency absorption examination (RFA). The reason why an RFA is performed is to ensure that the building material does not contain Asbestos.

A typical RFA will show Asbestos fibers up to three inches long. This will be accompanied by a warning that states "If airborne, Asbestos can cause lung cancer or become infected skin contact can also cause Asbestos poisoning". If the building material contained Asbestos then the Asbestos Surveyor will create an Asbestos Quarantine Zone. This Asbestos quarantine area is surrounded by high intensity lighting, security guards, and a strong breeze.

Another method of Asbestos Testing is to locate the point where a building material is suspected to contain Asbestos and then perform an indoor air sampling. Once the indoor air sampling is complete then a high energy radiation scanning device will be used to detect Asbestos in the air. If the Asbestos is detected then the Asbestos surveyor will then place the samples in a sample cup and send it for analysis to a lab. Once the lab has received the samples then they will evaluate whether or not the Asbestos in your home is benign or not.

The third method of Asbestos Testing is an Asbestos Sampling from the lungs of people who have worked with Asbestos. The Asbestos in your lungs will be impacted by the Asbestos fibers and other Asbestos waste products such as paint, dust, and cement. This Asbestos sampling can be performed if you suspect that you have been exposed to Asbestos in your work place or while living in an area where Asbestos is present.

Depending on the type of Asbestos you suspect in your home or place of business the number of Asbestos Samples required may range from one to four. If multiple samples are required, it will be determined by a contractor whether or not the required Asbestos Samples can be collected in one convenient location or in an area where access is limited. As soon as all the Asbestos Samples have been analyzed the contractor will make the determination of whether or not the sample is positive for Asbestos. Once the results of the testing have been analyzed and a positive result has been obtained then the contractor will make the decision whether or not to have the samples tested at a state level for Asbestos or if the sample should be sent to a lab for further testing. After the lab test has come back with a positive result then the contractor will make the decision of whether or not to continue with the Asbestos sampling. There is no set turn-around time frame when it comes to these types of Asbestos Testing.
