However, there are many ways to help offset the cost. For example, you can add a car exhaust cleaning system to your vehicle to reduce the amount of pollutants that are released into the atmosphere by up to thirty percent.

You can also remove some of the catalytic converter from your car and replace it with a device called an exhaust gas scavenger. This device will assist in trapping pollutants in your exhaust pipe and sucking them out. Once you have this installed, your car will only emit as many pollutants as it is needed for proper combustion.

The amount of time it will take for you to receive a vehicle registration smog check depends on how old your car is. Some states will let you receive a check in 30 days and others in a few months. However, if you live in a state like California where a smog check is required, it may take even longer.
