My"DUH" moment started a couple of weeks back on a gig. As we were enjoying a set I noticed my guitar amp seemed to be losing energy. The output signal had diminished to the point where I needed to crank up the volume to almost double the standard level I play just to be noticed.

Problem solved. . .or so I thought.

Again, my exceptionally educated powers of deduction told me that, since I'd just replaced the pre-amp tubes in my amp, the issue must be with the power amp tubes, so I whip out the credit card and purchase a new pair of fitting bias 6L6's, only knowing that I will be back in business.

I slap in the new tubes, visit the next gig and hook up everything, only to find that the problem still exists. Almost no sign coming out of the amp.
