Have you guys ever take part in the All Saints' Wake content? Well, though it has already expired a long time ago, I'd just want to ask this out of my curiosity, cause you know, I also, was not a fan at all of this weird-ass version of Hakune Manor, what's worse, it was much trickier than it should have been and basically gave like no experience for the time, I am not really one for the house decorations, therefore, farming Pumpkin Cookies was not my thing, but there is one thing that you certainly know that your boy got his spooky witch Ahriman glider.
This week, I have been trying to level up my crafters since I have not had plenty of time to spend trying to level up or raid, and I am noticing myself hitting a brick wall quite difficult. I have gotten almost all of my crafters to level 60, but, the fact is, I am still trailing behind on Botany, Fishing, and Mining all sitting somewhere in the 50s. Even I am at level 60, I find myself struggling to find anything that is worth making. I also know that Botany and Mining are strongly recommended to supplement my crafting expenses, but I feel quite guilty for using my sweet rested EXP on something so bland such as gathering ore and chopping up logs in Final Fantasy XIV.
Some players seem to notice the gathering skills relaxing. When I was working on Fishing, I ran into several players who really seemed to enjoy how in-depth fishing skills go as opposed to something like fishing in World of Warcraft (WoW) where you just click the bobber as it's showed. There exist a lot of stuff to keep track of in Final Fantasy XIV's crafting game, and just as you know, fishing is also no exception. Knowing when to use your abilities that increase your opportunities of a much better catch, mooching (which means by using a much smaller fish to catch a much bigger fish), or even knowing what kind of weather conditions will yield which catches can be extremely frustrating. I know while working on the level 50 fishing quest, I had to have like four different websites open just track where should I go to catch these elusive fish, and since they can not just be bought like a bunch of other quests (therefore, sell FFXIV Gil in this quest seems to make no sense at all, right?), then it quickly went from enjoyable to annoying.
Sometimes, I even feel like Botany and Mining are even worse, cause it's so bland to just run around and the click on stuff for hours at a time. The scenery could be changed because you are not always locked into one specific area, but it's just so freaking boring. Not only is it quite boring, but few things really sell for a decent price that it makes me question myself if I am wasting my time and leveling my crafters up at all.
What do you guys feel about leveling crafters? According to what I know, their biggest appeal seems to be crafting the sets of gear that cam bump your gear score just enough to get you into the end game raids, but apart from that ( and apparently casting items that people want for Glamour) is there any real reason to keep going with it? Sometimes I feel like it's much easier to just farm cheap FFXIV Gil or play the markets to purchase I need than it would be to invest resources into leveling up to make stuff for my alt jobs.
Right now, I just can not wait to take on the YoRHa Raid and New Game this week. I am super excited to see the changes to Ninja, cause you know, I am so anxious to blow the dust off this new guy.
May I know your crafter thoughts in the comments below? Or just let me know what you are hyped about in 5.2!
