Fibroids, also termed as Leiomyomas or Myomas are almost always non-cancerous muscular growths i.e. tumors that grow in the wall of uterus. Fibroids, in uterus, may grow as single or multiple tumors, often during childbearing years. The fibroids may vary in shape and size and appear as an apple seed or big like grapefruit.
They can develop at different location in uterus such as uterine wall or on its surface, attached to uterus by a stalk or stem-like structure.
