Liberation treatment -  Overview:

In 2009, Dr. (Prof.) Paolo Zamboni hypothesized that Chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency (CCSVI), a chronic state of impaired cerebral or cervical venous drainage, maybe a cause in pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis (MS).

Dr. Zamboni introduced a connection between CCSVI and MS. In his study, he found that in people with MS, the blood flow from the brain and spinal cord was abnormal, whereas Blood flow in people without MS was normal. Dr. Zamboni suggested that in some MS patients, narrow veins in the neck cause iron accumulation in the brain and spinal cord.

The accumulation of iron in the neck vein can initiate an inflammatory response that can be damaging to the central nervous system in patients suffering from MS. Accordingly; he theorized that CCSVI could be a potential cause of MS.

Liberation treatment is also referred to as CCSVI is altogether a new approach towards the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis that is done with venous angioplasty.
