Popular San Diego locksmith announces that they will be making August “Hot car awareness month”. In a statement to local media the owner of Prestige Locksmith had this to say; “Every year we see it in the news all of the time right around the middle of Summer. And I am just sick and tired of seeing pets and children die as a result of it”. The owner Shy Lavy said.
Recent research estimates that around 5,000 children and pet deaths occur yearly. And this research proves that all of these deaths are needless with just a couple simple precautions that should be taken. Shy Lavy the owner of Prestige Locksmith continued on stating that his Hot Car Awareness campaign this year will help educate, inform and hopefully prevent deaths in vehicles. “If I can prevent just one death, or even just one case of heat stroke, then I feel that these efforts are all worth it. As a father I have sympathy for these parents who have lost their children. It is my duty as a parent to give back with the knowledge that I have about locked vehicles. And since I am in a position to help I am going to help where I can as much as I can.”
Mr. Lavy chose the month of August as Hot Car Awareness Month because it is the hottest month of the year in most places around the United States. And he said that since most people are really feeling the heat by August it is a great time to remind them of the dangers of hot cars. “Well, I thought about making Hot Car Awareness month at the start of Summer. But, generally most parts of the United States don't really start to feel the heat until August. So, I thought August is the best month to do it. And, if you live in San Diego then you know what I am saying because I am out on automotive lockout jobs daily, and it is hot. I get tired easily, but with lots of water and a good lunch I am fine. I recommend the same for all of you reading this and take better care of yourself when it is this hot outside.” Mr. Lavy said in a statement to local media.
Mr. Lavy's company Prestige Locksmith offers emergency automotive locksmith services for when ever a child or pet is locked within a vehicle. These services are offered for free, however the company suggests breaking the window if longer than 5 minutes have passed (with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees inside of the vehicle). “My San Diego emergency automotive locksmith services will come to your location when a pet or child is locked inside of a vehicle, however it may be necessary to break the window. Even if you break a window you still have to be very very careful because it is really easy to cut yourself or injure the occupant locked inside. You need to have a game plan ahead of time so that you know what to do in case of an automotive lockout emergency.” Mr. Lavy concluded.
