Rea's Zanesville Office Places Third Overall In 14th Annual 'Help Can Hunger' Food Drive

Rea & Associates was proud to announce that its Zanesville office took third place in its annual food drive, with employees collecting over 165 pounds of food per person. The company stated that the Zanesville office’s third place finish netted the branch an additional $200 donation to the nonprofit of its choice. According to Rea, food donations benefitted Christ’s Table, a local food pantry that serves nutritious meals to some of the neediest children in the Zanesville area.

Rea also gave information about Help Can Hunger’s corporate-wide success. The company stated that its employees donated a total of 36,525 pounds of food to nonprofits and food pantries across the state—7,350 pounds more than last year’s total. The company indicated that the donations are intended to help feed Ohioans during the holiday season. Rea went on to indicate that, over the course of Help Can Hunger’s 14-year history, Rea employees have donated a grand total of over 291,000 pounds of food to needy Ohioans.

According to Rea, these donations are much-needed. The company shared that during any given week in Ohio, 230,000 people receive emergency food assistance, and 35% of those recipients are children. The company also indicated that fifty percent of Ohioans are forced to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table each week.
