Ventricular septal defect is being cured in India by surgeons who are qualified and have got their medical training at internationally reputed cardiac hospitals.

Foreign patients prefer advanced treatments to repair ventricular septal defects. Specific VSD surgery in India is available at advanced cardiac surgery hospitals of Mumbai and Delhi at an attractive price. Ventricular septal defect is a hole in the wall of the heart that separates the lower chambers of the heart. The lower chambers of the heart are known as ventricles. The wall between them is known as ventricular septum. In case of a normal heart the ventricular septum prevents the blood from flowing directly from one ventricle to the other. On the other hand in case of a heart suffering with VSD the blood flows in a direct way between the two ventricles. VSD is a congenital heart disease. As the fetus grows some ailment occurs and influences the development of the heart during the first 8 weeks of pregnancy thus resulting ventricular septal defect.

Heredity plays an important role in ventricular septal defect. Parents who suffer from congenital heart diseases are more likely to have a kid with ventricular septal defect than parents who do not suffer from congenital heart disease. In many cases ventricular septal defect occurs due to defect in one or more genes or due to abnormalities in the chromosomes of the unborn child. As concerning symptoms of VSD it should be noted that every patient experiences symptoms in a different way. The main symptoms of ventricular septal defect include sweating, fatigue, rapid breathing, heavy breathing, congested breathing, lack of interest in eating and poor gain of weight.

The preparation of ventricular septal defect surgery is done in the following way:-

1) If the patient is using medications like aspirin then he should consult the cardiac surgeon and ask when to stop taking aspirin. Aspirin is generally stopped within 14 days before the surgery to minimize the risk of excessive bleeding. However if aspirin is continued due to some reason then permission should be taken by the patient from the cardiac specialist.

2) If the patient is using blood thinners like Lovenox then he should contact the surgeon. These patients might require to be in the hospital for a few days before the surgery to stop taking these medications and convert into Heparin before the surgery. This decision is generally coordinated between the surgeon, cardiologist and the patient.
