We are located at 268 Main Street in Goshen, New York, right across the street from the village hall and within walking distance of everything within the hamlet. Presently there are four rooms available for our guests. This includes a continental breakfast during the week. There is a more elaborate breakfast on the weekends, with afternoon tea on Sunday. The Inn was built in 1747, almost entirely of materials procured from the very land on which it stands. It is set back on three beautiful acres remaining from the original farm. It became an Inn when Stagecoaches taking a short cut to the Albany Post Road cut across the farm. It has served as a host to many notables over the years. Governor Clinton stayed here when he came to review the militia. Judges gathered here in their flowing robes while taking time out of their duties in the old Court House now seen in the Village.
The U. S. Military Academy at West Point, the last Cantonment of the Revolutionary War, and Washington's Headquarters are all within a short drive. Many guests stay here to visit the numerous historic sites located in the region.

In the Inn itself the dining room and the common rooms all have their own working woodburning fireplaces and are filled with period antiques and paintings. Our grand terraces, reflecting pools and fountains overlook the grounds and gardens. They are ideal places from which to watch a sunset. There is also an enclosed sunroom for those "not so sunny" days, and a secluded Adirondack style barbecue pit with fireplace out doors.

Were it not for the air conditioners during the summer and the color TVs and high speed internet access in every room, one might think that they had checked into another century.

Let's begin with The William Penn Room, named for the founder of the Crown Colony, Pennsylvania. He brought with him from Europe a four poster canopy queen size bed presented to him by his parents. It now adorns this room. You'll think that you are sleeping on a cloud. In fact, to rise up to this cloud you may need help. A step stool can be found under the skirts. In addition to the bed; the balcony, private full bath, wingback chairs and working woodburning fireplace make this one of our most sought after rooms (especially with the newlyweds!).

The Guggenheim Room is a precious little chamber which offers the comfort of two twin canopy beds and an antique love seat. Perfect for the business travelers, the not so well acquainted, or the children. You'll love this cozy little room!

The Roosevelt Room, named for Eleanor Roosevelt, whom it is told, once stayed here, has another wonderful bed. It is an antique four poster (equivalent to today's Queen size). Once again, clouds come to mind. This room, as are all the other rooms, is charmingly furnished with English antiques, paintings and Currier & Ives prints. It can be combined easily with either the Penn Room and / or the Guggenheim Room to create a grand double or triple suite.

The Hickok Room, named for the Hickok family whom acquired the Inn in 1901, is as equally elegant as the William Penn Room. (The Hickoks were direct descendants of none other than James Butler "Wild Bill" Hickok.) The ornate queen size brass bed will make it difficult for you to distinguish between dream and reality. A love seat, wing back chairs and a chaise lounge cozy up around a working woodburning fireplace. The Hickok Room with its private full bath, overlooks the terraces and gardens on the West side of the Inn. It is ideal for the romantically inclined.

Among the many artful touches are the homegrown flowers placed in each room throughout the Spring and Summer months and antique lace trimmed linen hand towels. You can breakfast on your own private outdoor balcony, in the sunroom by a fountain, on the terrace by the reflecting pool, or quite simply in the dining room which opens up onto the terraces.

Freshly cut flowers, Persian rugs, and a collection of Currier & Ives horse prints adorn the Inn's spacious entry hall. For the real horses one need only walk a block to the Historic Track. This is one of Goshen's many national historic landmarks. (Be sure to visit the Hall of Fame of the Trotter while you are there.) Goshen is known as the cradle of the trotters. It is of particular interest to note that Messenger, the ancestor of Hambletonian, stood at stud in a barn on the northwest portion of the Inn's property.

Hot air balloon rides can be arranged at a nearby airport. Tennis and racquetball courts are only a short distance away.
