We did it again! NY post raves on Bistro Chat Noir (Aug 11, 2010)....
Steve Cuozzo from NY post says "What, you say? Burger bliss in the stomping ground of what eater.com mirthfully
calls The Olds, land of constipated white-bread eaters? Well, yes, actually.
The stealth bomber on the menu at Suzanne Latapie’s cute little place, the “Black Cat” burger
strikes from out of the blue — who expected plebeian-pleasure food like this just off Fifth Avenue? —
and delivers a textured, tantalizingly sweet payload. The Meyer Ranch (Montana) beef is from animals “humanely
raised on a totally vegetarian diet of hay and grasses . . . and finished on an all-corn program” to add “optimal taste
and marbling.” If they say so! But one bite’s usually enough to make me not give a thought to the creature’s privileged lifestyle."

Peachy Picks Bistro Chat Noir (July 27, 2010)....
Among the youngest restaurants we have reviewed, Bistro Chat Noir is the perfect oasis to Manhattan's
Madison Avenue Shopping and has an American/European cuisine that will absolutely delight you and
leave you coming back the next day for more. In the good weather, there a few coveted tables outside
that are a wonderful al fresco experience, particularly because Bistro Chat Noir is at a downstairs garden level,
offering privacy and intimacy that is hard to find in Manhattan.

Woman Around Town: Suzanne Latapie
"...Running a restaurant is a tough business, particularly in today’s economy. But Bistro Chat Noir continues to thrive. Refugees from La Goulue are happy to find they merely have to walk around the corner to once again enjoy wonderful French food. And, of course, they are thrilled to see Suzanne greeting them."

Who's dining at Bistro Chat Noir? Only the most chic doyenne in the fashion editorial world...
PRIVACY FIRST FOR ANNA WINTOUR
FRESH from taping "Late Show With David Letterman" on Monday, Vogue editrix Anna Wintour zipped up to bistro Chat Noir on East 66th Street alone.
After waiting 20 minutes for her squeeze, Shelby Bryan, she asked for a "more private table" when he finally got there, our spy reports. Managers found them a spot on the tiny sidewalk terrace.
"She looked annoyed, but you couldn't tell if it was because he was late, or if she was rattled by Letterman," our source said.
Wintour ordered a salad not on the menu: arugula, chopped apples and sliced avocado with "no dressing."

"The cat's out of the bag. Suzanne Latapie has just opened a new scratching post around the corner...
.and chances are you'll recognize your neighbor across the room. A new place to rest your kitten heels?"

“Plates include a perfect branzino (not remotely oily and just enough salt and flavour),
a scrumptious endive salade with choice bleu cheese, and succulent duck with baby vegetables.”
-Hip Guide, NYC

“Set in a landmark townhouse, Chat Noir strikes a balance between elegant neighborhood bistro
and tourist-friendly dining hub.”

“Cream walls, crimson banquettes and gilt-framed mirrors create a civilized setting.”

“..a gastro-bistro…in a beautiful brownstone..evokes Monmarte with late 19-century décor of Glen Cobin..”
-Crain’s

“It’s almost like dining at a friend’s place, if the friend was a really good cook.”
-New York Metro
“Chat Noir, a very French bistro on East 66th Street, is the only place I found that offers {salad} Nicoise salad both ways - using canned tuna at lunch and seared fresh tuna at dinner. ”
-New York Post
