Psychotherapy is about healing the subtle and not-so-subtle traumas that impact our lives and influence what we are doing and how we are living today - our relationships, our work, and our choices. PHOEBE CANNON, MSW, CSW-R addresses personal problems such as those related to divorce and separation, step-parenting and single parenting and blended families, adolescent issues of self-injury and medication, as well as consultations to families, schools, and agencies.
Those who seek psychotherapy are at an uncomfortable place with a particular problem or series of problems in their life. Phoebe is a NYS certified clinical social worker with more than 13 years of experience. Women's issues, the strategies/coaching and girls self esteem (ages 12-21) are some of Phoebe's areas of expertise. She emphasizes that effective psychotherapy can be a positive influence for the individuals' sense of self, relationships and choices. As a sense of safety and empowerment may facilitate a change in ones growth and development, her goal will always be away from dependence, and towards autonomy and self-sufficiency.
Phoebe accepts most insurance and a sliding fee scale is available.
