Micro Bore Inc. may not sound like a motorcycle enthusiast sales and service store but what a shop it is! Established in 1976 this company has changed through the years but has always worked hard to maintain the service at the highest standards with its single owner, John Tilton.
Working originally out of his garage back in 1976 John purchased a rottler boring bar and continues to this day to be highly regarded for his knowledge in boring of cylinders. He moved to the company’s current location in 1978 but with only 1,250 square feet. By 1987 Micro Bore was incorporated and expanded to 6,000 square feet. Many customers still remember the beginnings and often reminisce and express the years we’ve worked on their machines. Within the past nine years it became a full "mom & pop" shop as John’s wife, Wendy, came out from behind the scenes and worked on merchandising and managing the shop.
We have earned the best advertisement, word of mouth. We continue to answer our phones directly without a machine which we believe pleases customers. Even though we honestly tell them the phone is not off the hook it is constantly ringing, during our busy season.
Currently we are a four-person operation, open year round, Monday through Saturday. Yes, we said Monday, a terrific day for us. We work on all makes and models and do maintain our reputation for honesty. If we can’t work on a bike or feel it is not in the best interest of the customer, we tell them. Sometimes this works out and sometimes it doesn’t. We try to help so many people but there are only so many hours in a day. We hope you will come visit our shop. Thank you.
