Miriam K. Deitsch, President of Miriam K. Deitsch, Ph.D., Counseling and Consulting Associates, counsels people of all ages at various stages of life and career development. Her focus is on career and educational planning as people resolve personal issues that relate to making effective life decisions. Dr. Deitsch's counseling practice is enhanced by her experience as a professor of human development at the State University of New York, where she received the prestigious Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1997. Dr. Deitsch was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association. In April 2002, Dr. Deitsch was promoted to the rank of Distinguished Teaching Professor by the Board of Trustees at the State University of New York. She is the first woman in 90 years to be honored with this title.
