The Rochester Tai Chi Chuan Center was founded in 1982 by third generation Chen Pan-ling Master, Kai Sung and his students, with James Ransom as its first President. It was run by Director and President Jampa Mackenzie Stewart until 1990. It continues to operate as a non-profit educational organization to promote T'ai Chi Ch'uan and related internal arts.
T'ai Chi Ch'uan courses are offered in both William CC Chen Yang and Chen Pan-Ling forms from beginner to advanced level. Courses are also offered in Qigong, Peter Ralstons Cheng Hsin Tui Shou, and the martial arts legacy of Chen Pan Ling, as taught directly to us by his son, Grandmaster Chen Yun Ching.
See School Info page for class schedule, tuition and map.
The Rochester T'ai Chi Ch'uan Center is a not-for-profit educational institution, incorporated in 1982, whose mission is to promote Good Health and Longevity for its students and members, through the instruction and practice of T'ai Chi Ch'uan and its related Internal Arts. We maintain an open learning atmosphere, combining ancient tradition with modern instructional techniques, and encourage an open exchange of information from teachers of all Martial Arts and Disciplines.
The Vision for the future of the Rochester T'ai Chi Ch'uan Center will be to continue and further the legacy granted to us by the first wave of Chinese T'ai Chi Ch'uan teachers to reach our shores, by attaining a greater presence and position in the T'ai Chi Community, both regionally and nationally.
