It is with deep regret we announce the closing of Chestnut Inn under our management effective January 2, 2010.

It has been a great experience and an honor to do business with everyone. Our decision was a difficult one to make; however with the recent passings of Austin Retzer (the Retzer family built and ran the Chestnut Inn in the early to mid 1900’s) and Floyd Maines, who were instrumental in our decision to remain open; we have decided it is now time for our family to exit the operation and focus our attention on our core business. We are appreciative to have had the opportunity to share the beauty of Chestnut Inn and Oquaga Lake with so many of you.

We would like to thank all of our wonderful guests, faithful employees and the entire community for supporting Chestnut Inn over the 16 years it has been in our family.
