Founded in 1981, Anthone Eye Center of Buffalo is a nationally recognized, progressive eye care center. Dr. Kenneth Anthone is among a select group of physicians invited to participate in national clinical trials of new surgical procedures. An experienced and innovative surgeon, he invented the "Crack and Stack" method of cataract surgery, as well as the "Anthone Enabler," an instrument utilized with cataract surgery. He has taught this procedure to eye surgeons nationally as well as in Europe and China.
Dr. Anthone has also donated his surgical expertise to the Buffalo Zoo, where he has operated on Yogi the gorilla and Mota the white tiger. As a result, he is one of the most experienced ophthalmic surgeons in North America. He has been on CNN News and USA Today for his humanitarian eye surgery program called Eyes On America, which helps the less fortunate people of his home, Western New York who do not have insurance to cover much needed surgery.
"Eyes are the window to the world. I take pride in doing everything in my power to help people see beautiful things. 'Focusing on a Brighter Tomorrow' is the key!"
