Thank you for visiting Open Door Bible Baptist Church on the web. We personally invite you to investigate who we are by navigating this site and attending one of our church services. Open Door Bible Baptist Church offers no mystical experiences, just real Bible answers for life's greatest questions. Our church has four opportunities to unite hearts in worship, teaching, inspiration, winning the lost, and providing food for the soul.
Pastor Pete Montoro was born in Baltimore, Maryland and raised in a Christian home just outside the city.Pete knew much about the Gospel but finally experienced salvation at eleven years old. At sixteen, Pete felt the call of God on his life to become a preacher. Following high school graduation, Pete left for Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. Upon graduating from the Pastors Course in 1986, Pete began working with Larry Clayton, founder and president of the Salvation Evangelistic Association. Thus began Pete's relationship with the Cleveland Baptist Church of Cleveland, Ohio, Bro. Clayton's sending church. After working with Bro. Clayton for two years Pete was married to the former Julia Marshall, of the John Marshall Family.
Julia was born in Waynesville, Missouri as her father was starting a church there. Julia was only four years of age when she trusted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. At the age of 11, Julia's father felt God's call into evangelism, a ministry in which he has served since.
Our doors are open to anyone who wishes to be a part of our services. You are welcome, no strings attached. You do not have to be a Baptist to attend. Just come.
We believe the Bible to be God's Holy Word. It is the center of our ministry. From its pages we find all the answers to life's toughest questions and the solutions to life's greatest problems.
We use the name Baptist because it links us to a group of people who down through the ages have held to a simple belief that what the Bible says is literally true.
We believe the church is the "Body of Christ" (I Corinthians 12), having Christ for its head and each member as a functioning part. Just as a normal body supplies the needs of its parts, so the church supplies the needs of its members. We invite you to attend our services and to become a part of the Open Door Bible Baptist Church.
If I had to categorize my own religious and spiritual beliefs, I would say they are:
Strongly committed to my faith, though sometimes I am troubled by unanswered questions
The last several weeks have been a whirlwind of travel and activity for the LeClercq family as they continue their deputation.
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
