Union Church at a Glance
The people are the real church, the people who work and worship, pray and play, share and care together in the doing of God's work in God's world.
Like the first Christians 2,000 years ago, we come from many different faith traditions, including none at all. Some have found Union Church after many years of questioning, some are from very secular backgrounds, some from other faiths, and some, lifelong Presbyterians.
We are New Yorkers, which means we come from all over the world, including right here in Brooklyn. We are lovers of creation, whether we are making things ourselves or caring for God's world, God's creatures, and God's people. Most of all, we are human beings who are being transformed by the Spirit of God working in and through our lives. As we follow Jesus together, we find joy, strength, freedom, abundance of life, and good news to share wherever we are.
The Union Church of Bay Ridge is devoted to thoughtful, spirited, creative worship of God; to welcoming and empowering God's children of all ages, abilities, ethnicities, races, faith traditions, and sexual identities; and to learning and growing together as faithful followers of Christ.
