Welcome to our school! We are pleased to share our mission of educating the whole child with the greater learning community. As team members, the parents, grandparents, family members, parish members, faculty, staff and administrators work hand-in-hand to guide and direct our students. We know that our greatest challenge is to develop students who hold excellence as their goal and standard in academic performance, civic leadership and the spiritual life. Our students know that for them, we have high expectations, and they strive to meet and exceed our expectations. Together we can create a learning environment that challenges each child to take their place as the leaders of tomorrow rooted in a strong faith, guided by sure and dependable knowledge and equipped to make clear choices resulting in their success. We welcome the involvement of all members of the community and recognize that it is an honor to work side-by-side in the education of all of our students.
Welcome to St Marks Day School, Brooklyn where we are committed to educating and nurturing children from Nursery through Grade Eight in academics, Christian faith and morals together with life skills and discriminating judgment.
As we start the new school year, we are rededicating ourselves to excellence in all areas of focus. We have added a new person to our management teaman External Relations and Parent Coordinatorwho will liaison with parents, teachers, alumni and others to guarantee that the larger school community remains involved with the school in positive ways.
We plan to work more intentionally to guarantee that our students are accepted into the choice High Schools of New York, and to that end we are asking parents to work diligently with our new ERPC to facilitate this project. Beginning immediately, he will be working, with the parents permission and commitment, with students from Grade Six through Grade Eight in this targeted program.
The Pre-School was temporally relocated from the Union Street Campus to President Street to facilitate upgrades to the building. As soon as it is feasible, we plan to reopen the Union Street Campus with a program that runs from 7.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. This is being done to facilitate the needs of parents who work and want their children in an all year program. The After-School costs will be factored in and scholarships will be made available where possible.
Please keep the St Marks Day School in your prayers. Also, remember that we are relying on members of the community to share positive criticisms and advice that would make our school the best in the area. We would like to hear from you.
