History and Description of the John Rankin House
Our funeral home is located in a National Landmark, the John Rankin House, built circa 1840. It is considered one of the most famous Greek Revival homes in the United States. The brick mansion is graced with symmetrically placed windows, a handsome central doorway, and granite pilasters. Its interior is also fully restored and furnished with period antiques and artwork.
History of the Family Business
Frank Guido's great-grandfather opened his business in 1883, becoming the first Italian undertaker in Brooklyn. Today, the tradition continues with Maria-Ray Guido, the family's sixth generation funeral director. The family's 1888 Studebaker horse-drawn hearse is still available upon request.
We know that death is hard for those still living, so it is our goal at Guido Funeral Home to make this time of transition easier for you with our variety of services. Contact us today for more information.
