Under the guidance and direction of a committed, voluntary Board of Directors, a dedicated staff provides part-time skilled nursing and health related services to individuals and families in their homes through a team approach in an effort to:

Carry out coordinated home health and related services including acute, chronic, and maintenance levels of care, incorporating principles of prevention, health promotion, and rehabilitation.

Teach family members to care for the sick and disabled at home, preventing costly institutional care.

Teach new and expectant mothers to care for their infants, family and themselves, contributing to the integration and preservation of family life.

Assist patients and their families to resolve grief and loss associated with illness, death, and dying.

Collaborate with health professionals in assessing and implementing health care needs in the community and promoting personal and environmental health.

Networking with other health care professionals and groups to initiate programs for unmet community needs, such as non medical support for mothers and children, the frail elderly, and persons living with AIDS.

The philosophy of the Dominican Sisters Family Health Service is based on Judeo-Christian belief that each person has the right to life, and to the means which are necessary to the proper development of life. Services attempt to enhance the physical, social and spiritual well-being of the individual, the family and the community.

The mission of the Dominican Sisters Family Health Service, a community-based, certified, non-profit Home Health Agency is to provide compassionate, professional, holistic and family focused home health care to persons in need. Services foster a quality of life, which promotes human growth and independence. Special emphasis is given to care of the poor, the marginalized and the elderly.
