Therapeutic massage is a step in breaking the chain of non-preventative medicine. Massage has been shown to have medical benefits such as; Increasing circulation, lowering blood pressure and alleviating chronic pain. In fact, therapeutic massage has earned its respect that the trend for hospital based massage is growing. Those who have benefited from therapeutic massage also experienced productivity in their work environment. At Westchester Massage Therapy I am personally available for consultation with clients in order to address their concerns and specific problems, whether or not they are injury related, episodic or chronic. I have extensive experience in treating back and neck pain, sciatic pain, accident victims, prenatal and pain associated with arthritis. Nonetheless, I work hard to custom tailor a therapy regimen which is appropriate to my client's needs.
I began Westchester Massage Therapy in 1985 with the idea to bring this type of high quality and affordable therapeutic massage to Westchester, a community known for its urban sensibilities balanced with its appreciation for nature. I trained at the Swedish Institute and am a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). In my sessions, I use a combination of Swedish massage and trigger point therapy to provide my clients with the regimen they require. I also provide soothing music such as the call of the wind, whale, rain forest or water accompanied with various instruments such as the flute. I also have classical music. Both the therapeutic massage and meditative music enhances the ability to relax. In the day to day management of Westchester Massage Therapy I try to hold tight to my ideas and beliefs, which include providing an environment free from animal cruelty. I am on the board of the Pet Adoption League, and all of the products that I dispense to clients, the massage creme that I use, and the laundry detergent for the sheets and towels used in the massage sessions are cruelty-free (not tested on animals).
For my client's convenience Westchester Massage Therapy also accepts No-fault Insurance and Workers Compensation cases. As a small business owner and female business entrepreneur I feel that I have keen insights into the stresses that daily life brings and that it is imperative to provide high quality preventive health care which is accessible to everyone.
