The Federation of Dance Competitions just named the World of Dance 9th Place in the Country out of thousands of studios! This is such an honor for our studio!

Regional StarQuest Competition in Springfield, Mass.
Congrats to some of our comp team members who competed at Starquest in Springfield, Mass. last weekend. Petitie Miss Starquest Rachael Mooney; Junior Miss Starquest Brooke Colletti, Teen Miss Starquest Danielle Shea -- all of the dancers took home places in the top three in solos or duo/trios! Congrats to Brooke Colletti and Kayleigh McClean -- Brooke won 1st Place Junior Solo and title, Kayleigh 2nd Place Junior Solo and runner-up title and they earned 1st Place Junior Duo/Trio! See results here.
Our entire Competition Team really worked it at the Onstage NY Springfield Regional Competition!
Kudos to our title winners: Miss Mini Onstage Brooke Colletti, Miss Teen Onstage Hannah Pregont and Mr. Teen Onstage Connor Dillman. Some of our dance students performed in The Magic of Christmas at the Palace Theater Dec. 5 and 6. They performed a tap dance to Jingle Bells played live by the Albany Symphony Orchestra. The girls danced last year and were such a hit they were asked back for this season.

Our kids had a blast (and learned a lot) at each of our fun summer camps and dance intensives. Thanks for sending your kids to us!
Campers enjoyed the Glamor Make Day with photo shoot, crafts and the BIG SHOW at the end of the week for parents and family .

3rd Annual World of Dance Family Picnic
We had a wonderful time at the 3rd Annual World of Dance Family picnic Saturday, Aug. 22. A little rain didn't dampen our spirits. See pictures from the picnic.

The World of Dance received two Federation of Dance Competitions Judge's Choice Awards.To see the dances click on the video screen (left). The World of Dance was named one of the Top 50 dance studios in the country as named by the Federation of Dance Competitions for the 2008-09 dance season. This highly prestigious designation is awarded to the highest scoring dance studios from the thousands of studios who compete in FDC competitions each year. Studio directors, Miss Barb and Miss Danielle, will attend the FDC Gala in August in Las Vegas to see who earned top honors. This is the second year the studio has placed in the Top 50. Our student Meghan DeGraff -- recently auditioned for the TV show "So You Think You Can Dance" in Atlanta, Ga. Meghan is the winner of numerous regional and national high score and title awards and is a two-time World Tap Dance Champion.

Students from The World of Dance recently were chosen to perform with the National Tour of THE WIZARD OF OZ as munchkins. The children who performed at Proctors were Chezmin Sheehan, Jolie Bell, Hannah Valiquette, Amy Kindlon, Madison VanCott, Brooke Colletti, Whitney Wilson, Allison Goetz, Kayleigh McClean, Elizabeth Deyo, Lauren Muia, and Mackenzie Quinn. Jolie Bell, HannahValiquette, Hannah Gavin and Amy Kindlon recently performed at the Magic of Christmas 2008. They tap danced to Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, performed live by the Albany Symphony Orchestra. They are pictured below with Conductor David Alan Miller and dancing at the Palace Theater in December.

Congrats to Hannah Pregont and Meghan DeGraff, who were named runner-up outstanding dancers at NYCDA Boston in December.
