Peter W. Antonowicz, Esq. went into the legal profession to help disadvantaged and disabled people who could not afford an attorney. He represented his first Social Security disability applicant in 1982. He started professional career as a Legal Aid Society Attorney. Afterwards, he worked as a civil rights attorney protecting the rights of psychiatric patients and developmentally disabled residents of Central and Western New York State. He has been active in disability rights organizations throughout his career, including parental advocacy groups for the rights of disabled children. In 1992, Attorney Peter W. Antonowicz opened his own law firm in Rome, New York. He devotes all of his professional time to helping the disabled.

Peter W. Antonowicz has represented thousands of disabled claimants. He has actually listened to claimants' descriptions of previous experiences with the Social Security disability hearing process and the past representation they received. He recognized that the skills necessary to effectively and compassionately represent people with disabilities are not entirely compatible with the legal training provided to attorneys.
