We practice all aspects of Divorce and Family Law in Staten Island, and the other Counties of New York and in the New Jersey Courts and upon request, in the Florida Courts.
Both Litigation and Mediation services are offered in the area of Divorce, Legal Separation, Paternity, Pre-Nuptial, Property and/or Parenting Agreements, Child Support and Alimony, Domestic Violence actions, Custody, Interstate Custody and Child Abduction, Family Court and Appeals. Our firm also practices Collaborative Divorce for those clients who wish to utilize this dynamic new way of resolving their marital problems!
Our Law Firm concentrates on Family Law Issues, thereby achieving a depth of field and an extensive base of experience. Many of our clients are referred to us by former clients as well as lawyers and mental health professionals, both in New York and New Jersey and elsewhere, who know and trust our work.

Low up-front retainers
While many divorce attorneys on Staten Island require an up-front retainer of between $5,000 and $15,000 on all divorce cases, we only require an up-front retainer of just $3,000 on any case that we accept which is not yet in litigation! Yes, even if you and your spouse have a business, or millions of dollars in assets, the initial retainer is only $3,000, provided the case is not yet in litigation! We believe that most cases can be settled quickly and inexpensively by negotiation, rather than litigation! Obviously, if Court litigation is necessary, the initial retainer will be higher. We will give you a definite retainer quote at the initial consultation so there will be no surprises!

About Our Firm
Our Law Firm was founded by attorney William J. Leininger in 1981. Mr. Leininger is a native New Yorker who graduated from Regis High School, St. Francis College and Fordham Law School. He was admitted to the New York Bar in 1975, and was subsequently admitted to the Bars of New Jersey and Florida. Mr. Leininger has appeared on the Phil Donahue Show, the Sally Jessie Raphael Show, the Today Show, CBS Eyewitness News, and other national television and radio programs.

Mr. Leininger is assisted by his Senior Associate Attorney, Miriam Karp. Ms. Karp has over 25 years of experience in Family Law matters.

Mr. Leininger is also assisted by his Associate Attorney, Kathleen Dicks Boyer. Ms. Boyer has over 15 years experience as an attorney, and in addition, was formerly the Law Secretary to Justice Louis Marrero when he sat in Staten Island as Divorce Judge.
