My name is Jerry Glick and I am the owner of J.A.G. Carpet Wholesalers, Inc. At the age of nineteen, I went to work for Martin Paint Stores which was the largest retail chain of home decorating centers on the East Coast. The over one hundred stores serviced millions of consumers from New York to Illinois. Martin Paint Stores was a complete home-decorating center offering a multitude of products for the home. The third largest division of the company was floor coverings and I immediately developed a special interest in this area and a talent for sales.
After just a couple of years, I was promoted to Store Manager at one of Martins stores and from there, to stores of greater size and volume. In 1966, I was promoted to Head of Merchandising in the chains floor covering division. In addition to purchasing, distribution, merchandise pricing, warehousing and advertising of all floor-covering products, my responsibilities included sales training and development of District Supervisors, Store Managers and all sales personnel.
In 1977, I decided to expand my career into the wholesale side of the business and joined Royal Ambassador Rugs, a national carpet and rug sales agency. As their VP of Sales, I used my eleven years of experience in retail to successfully buy and private label merchandise, which was sold by major retail chains throughout the United States.
After two years, I became a partner in Royal Ambassador acquiring fifty percent of the company and remained there for another fifteen years.
In 1993, I created J.A.G. Carpet & Rug Distributors Inc. a company servicing the northeast from Philadelphia to New England. Founded in a ten thousand square foot warehouse in Brooklyn, NY, my operation wholesales to small retail chains, independent carpet stores, home centers and floor covering contractors. In addition, we service the public directly, and in 2003 began to supply many NYC Public Schools with bound area rugs for student reading and rest areas.

Presently as of April 2009 I have started a new company called J.A.G. Carpet Wholesalers, Inc. located at 182-04 Liberty Ave. in Saint Albans, Queens, N.Y. which will be catering to the nationwide direct sales on the internet. Our internet business has been continually growing. Also our product line will be expanded into a much larger selection of carpet runners, non-skid carpet & rug paddings, area rugs, & other related products.
