Yale Manor Bed and Breakfast is conveniently located in the heart of Finger Lakes wine country. Tucked away on ten private acres with views of beautiful Seneca Lake, Yale Manor is seven miles south of Geneva.
Originally built in the early 1900's, Yale Manor was the main structure of an impressive 365-acre farm complex built for a Mr. James Macdonald from New York City. Mr. Macdonald, U.S. manager for Royal Insurance Co. of Liverpool, England used Yale Manor as the operations center for his "Seneca Juice" business. The original farm contained the juice processing plant as well as its own railroad stop. A Yale graduate, he paid tribute to his school by incorporating the Yale name throughout his operations. After his death, the manor house went through various transformations. In a seriously deteriorated state, the structure was rescued in 1995 and has since been restored to its former glory.
Today, guests can luxuriate in this peaceful, country get-away. Accommodations include six guestrooms, four with gas log fireplaces, and every room enjoys either lake or country views. It's not unusual to spot deer, wild turkey, or even an occasional fox.
We have plenty of off-street parking, and the carriage house is available to store bicycles, motorcycles, kayaks, etc. In addition, a short walk takes you to the lakefront boathouse and deck where you can swim, sun, and delight in spectacular sunsets.
Yale Manor Bed and Breakfast is within an hour's drive or less to Rochester, Syracuse, Canandaigua, Ithaca, Corning and Watkins Glen. But with all the local attractions and activities, you won't want to leave the area.
The Seneca Lake and Cayuga Lake wine trails, just minutes from Yale Manor Bed and Breakfast, have dozens of wineries offering daily wine tasting. Parks, golf courses, the Women's Rights National Historical Park and several colleges, including Hobart and William Smith and the New York Chiropractic College, are just minutes away. Add to that the charm of craft and farm markets, antique shops, spectacular fall foliage, boat and canal tours, and a multitude of cultural and historic sites, Yale Manor is the perfect destination for a peaceful get-away, or your home base for Finger Lakes touring.
