The Howard Animal Hospital was founded in 1948 by Dr. Nathan Howard. Dr. Jeffrey Nesse joined the staff in 1972 and took over ownership in 1974. Dr. Nesse also owns the buildings that not only serve as the hospital, capable of housing over 125 animals, but include Dr. Nesse's living quarters. Animals are uniquely under the doctor's care 24 hours a day. Hospital hours for the public are from 9:30AM to 1PM 6 days a week. Dr. Nesse loves animals and caring for them. He has a lot of stories of nursing lost dogs and cats back to full health and then caring for them till they're reunited or adopted.
