Dr. Vincent D'Amico is a New York and New Jersey State-Licensed Clinical Psychologist. He can help your child improve his or her academic performance, acquire self-esteem, and develop positive attitudes and confidence that will lead to success inside and outside the classroom. Dr. Vincent D'Amico, director of the ADD/ADHD Diagnostic and Treatment Center and Family Stress Reduction Institute earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from Yeshiva University Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine Campus. He completed an internship at New York University Medical Center's Rusk Institute of Rehabilitative Medicine. He has held positions as program psychologist with foster care and family-based treatment programs and has been director of an ADD/ADHD center in Bergen County. Dr. D'Amico also has postdoctoral training in EEG Neuro feedback and is certified by the National Registry of Neuro feedback Providers.
Dr. D'Amico has devoted his life to the psychology profession to alleviate emotional suffering. He asserts that each person has unique potential within. His approach to awakening this potential is to "coach" children, adolescents, and adults to develop effective coping skills and to learn self-acceptance.
Vincent's desire is to assist children, teens, and their families in leading fulfilled, happy, and successful lives. The attributes of "success" and "healthy living" are personal and best defined by the individual. However, the basic components of "healthy living" involve balance in the following four areas: work, play, nutrition, and sleep. If these four basic elements are in balance, the person is less likely to experience unhealthy stress and more likely to experience fulfillment and success. This principle is applied in the treatment of ADD/ADHD. Children with oppositional or defiant behavior as well as children, adolescents, and adults with learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive behavior can also benefit from this approach.
