Since 1976 the goal at Staten Island Pediatric Dentistry is to provide optimum dental care to your child in a friendly environment.
As pediatric dentists we are dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years including those children with special needs. We have special training which allows us to provide the most up-to-date and thorough treatment for a wide variety of children's dental problems. We can spot problems when they are small and manageable. When problems are diagnosed early, parents can usually avoid costly dental treatment later on. We therefore recommend that children begin routine dental treatment and preventive services by age 18 months.
The pediatric dentist is concerned about a child's total health care and good oral health is an important part of total health. To help your child stay healthy, the pediatric dentist often works with pediatricians, other physicians and dental specialists. Healthy children, as well as hospitalized, handicapped and chronically ill children often are served best through this team approach.
At Staten Island Pediatric Dentistry we believe that orthodontics plays an important role in improving oral health, and in achieving balance and harmony between teeth and face for a beautiful healthy smile. An attractive enhances a child's self esteem, which may actually improve the quality of the child's social environment. Most importantly, properly aligned teeth are easier to brush and thereby may reduce the tendency to decay or to develop diseases of the gum and supporting bone.
