Will that be international entertainment to see those two women fighting, and to make it worse, Sara Palin showing up?
But because it will be 2 to 1 we need another democratic.
What about adding Oprah to make it 2 to 2?
I am sure that will be better than any soap opera, American Idol or whatever program on tv
And I am sure the democratic side will win.
How did the proposed actions of a rinky dink church in Florida with 50 members became international news?

When did this become news, ie who is behind the story? I seem to recall that I first heard the story because Gen. David Petraeus commended the Dove World Outreach Center’s plans to burn Korans to mark the anniversary of 9-11, but from recent reporting the timeline seems like it’s been reversed.
Can you become a international actor by signing up with SM, JYP or any other Entertainment companies?hat would?
October 22nd, 2010 | 1 Comment | Posted in » international entertainment
I’ve been thinking about auditioning for SM Entertainment through mail/email as a actor. There are a lot of questions about how it is for a singer but not so much for those who want to be a actor.
So I have a few questions.
2. I know there are dorms that people can stay in, so does that mean that if a trainee is foreign in Korean, they get to live there?
3. I heard that trainees get an allowance while signed up and living at those dorms. How much is it? (American dollars if you can)
4. I hear that the company pays for everything, does that include meals or is that what you spend said allowance on?
5. Do the campany sign you on a contract when you enter as a trainee and how long is it, and what happens when you finish being a trainee (when you dubut) but you’re still on the contract if you are on one?
6. I hear that some companies are expanding (JYP) into Hollywood. So if I join JYP, can I dubt in Hollywood as an actor or would I have to star in Korea first and slowly make the move later on? If so how long?
7. Do you get an agent/manager when you become a trainee or after?
9. I hear that trainees can be at the company for alomst 7 years, but so far it’s only singers that I read about. What about actors? Do they stay lesser years?
10. How free are you when you become a trainee and after you dubut when signing onto these companies? Do you have a say in what they get you to do, ie TV shows and movies?
11. I’m Vietnamese and fluent in it as well as English, more so on the latter. Will that make a difference? And for singers, I hear they have to learn Chinese, Japansese, English and Korean if needed… does that apply to Actors as well?
Thanks a bunch. I feel like such a dorking asking, but I want to know before I take any steps in actually auditioning..
Well first of all, if you want to become an actress in America, then I don’t think SM or JYP would be the way for you to go. Both companies are known for producing Korean singers and actors– meaning that they debut all of their artists in Korea. Now some artists, such as Rain, try to make an American debut once they become famous in Korea, but if you already know english and want to debut in Hollywood movies, then it would be the best for you to try to audition for an American company.
Also, it is almost impossible to become an actress in Korea if you are not Korean. You can become a singer in Korea if you are not of Asian decent, but as far as actors go, you have to be Korean unless you are okay with just doing some side roles or roles in more obscure dramas.
So, if you want to become an actress, then I would recommend you just auditioing for one of the American companies (there are so many good ones out there). Plus if you do that, then if you become famous you can move over to Korea if that is what you want to do.
But I will answer the rest of your questions in case you are also looking at going into other forms of entertainment:
2. Yes, if you are going to be a trainee then they will send you to Korea for you training and you will live in the dorm.
3. Um, well if you take conversations with prices (the prices of things there compared to the prices of things in the US), it is about 25-30 dollars a week. Mostly it is just for outside meals and activities.
4. They pay for all of your basic needs– schooling, provisions, housing, training costs
5. The company signs you on as a trainee. There is no time limit for that contract because nobody really knows when they are going to debut (in fact, most trainees never do debut). The contract will end if you debut, if you leave the company, or if the company lets you go. If you are going to debut, then you will sign on a new contract with the company.
6. JYP and SM are both expanding into LA, but as I said before, their american branches are not really that affiliated with the Korean branches. They have separate trainees and they act as just any other management company.
7. You get a manager once you debut. There is an agent that deals with all of the trainees as a group, so you can still get scouted to be in music videos and TV shows while a trainee, but you do not have your own agent.
9. Actors don’t really ever train in SM or JYP. The training period in those two companies are really only for singers. The companies might give you a few acting lessons, but as far as actresses go– they only sign on people that have a lot of talent already. Basically, once you sign on you will automatically be an SM or JYP artists and will be given an agent that will look for roles for you. There really isn’t a training period for acting.
10. For actors and actresses, you will have a say in what you do because you can refuse to take roles. However, new actors rarely refuse roles because they see any type of expose are being positive. Now if you are looking to be a singer, then it is very different. You don’t have much free time while training and when you debut, you don’t really have much say in the type of music you do for at least the first few albums.
11. If you want to become an actress in Korea then being fluent in Korean is a must. For singers, they usually train them in the language and it is okay if they are not fluent, but it is a requirement for actors and actresses since fluency is required for a person to be natural when speaking dialogue.
So hopefully I answered all of your questions.
My advice is just to skip trying out for the Korean companies if you want to become an international actress. American companies are MUCH better suited for that plus it would be easier for you to get into an American company as an actress.

I just moved to the US and I’m having trouble finding international and national news merged into one show. I just want the traditional news where the anchor reads the introduction, he/she talks about it, a video is shown and she just moves onto the next story.
I dont’ want a discussion show, just traditional news Thank you. Please tell me what channel the show is on and what time as well as the timezone you’re referring to. Thank you!
The big three are CNN, MSNBC and FOX News. Might have to switch among these and tune in to local news to get the customization that you what.

Is Lady Gaga an international embarrassment for the US?
September 30th, 2010 | 16 Comments | Posted in » international entertainment
I’m Canadian and I know that our reputation in entertainment and world status went down when Alanis Morisette escaped her cage but is Gaga worse?
Also, for the internationals, what country are you from and which entertainer embarrassed your country on a global scale? -Ireland, we know it’s Bono you don’t have to comment…
you are probably right.
I think that performers like her makes onlookers question the discriminating tastes (or absence of) of the american viewer and public.
this is similar to anycountry’s choice in politicians it votes into power to represent them as a nation..

How does the media’s seeming love affair with the mafia, as an entertainment topic, glamorize organized crime?
September 20th, 2010 | 1 Comment | Posted in » international entertainment
? Why do you think the American public is so entranced by films about the mafia and other forms of organized crime? How does this entertainment interest hinder the accuracy of the public’s perceptions pertaining to domestic and international organized crime?
I don’t understand the publics fascination with gratuitous violence either but there are sure a lot of people making a lot of money pandering to it.
