“The House that Dentistry Built”
The building in which we practice dentistry was constructed in 1936 by Dr. Louis Milstein. He treated patients here for 15 years.
My father, Dr. William M. Campbell, served as an officer in the United States Army during World War II. After returning home, he married and pursued a career in dentistry. He graduated from The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1951. Dad served as chief dental intern in Flushing Hospital during the next year. In 1952, he and my mother moved to Malverne, purchased the building from Dr. Milstein, and set up residence in an apartment above the dental office. As the family grew, they bought a larger home in Malverne and maintained the office for professional use. My father practiced dentistry in this community for 35 years.
I am, in the truest sense of the word, my father's son. His compassion, integrity and love of dentistry, were instilled in me early on. Through his guidance, I pursued a career as a dentist. After graduating from The State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine in 1984 I went on to complete a two-year dental practice residency program at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. I returned to Malverne in 1986 and entered practice with my father. Dad retired in 1987 and transferred Campbell Family Dentistry to me. I am proud to be entering my twentieth year of dental practice in “The House that Dentistry Built.”
