In 1976, I started Astar Heating & A/C Inc., my first employee a local BOCES graduate. I was fortunate to have kept him with me for over 20 years and hired many of his BOCES friends, one of whom is still with Astar today as our Installation Manager and another as our Service Manager. 35 years later, here we are. It's so important to stress that Astar is unique because of the people we employ. All of our technicians are honest and highly trained, with an amazing work ethic. Too often, poorly trained technicians troubleshoot the first 'symptom' they see, without seeing the big picture. This often leads to more problems. Astar treats the home or building as a system. We are the only company built to this size in which the owner/president is visible and hands-on in the day-to-day activities. I have a trunk full of tools and instruments available and can solve any problem that my technician can, just a little slower and with a lot more talking!
