Alternative to “one size fits all” addiction treatment programs
One size does not fit all
Unlike standard treatment programs, we do not believe that there is only one pathway to recovery for everyone who develops a problem with alcohol or drugs. The cornerstones of our approach are flexibility, choice, and personalized care. We work collaboratively with our clients to design customized treatment plans – whether they are using alcohol, cocaine, prescription drugs, or other addictive substances. And whether this is their first treatment attempt or they have tried other treatments without success.
Private, totally confidential
Recovery Options is a private practice, not an addiction treatment clinic or program. We are a group of highly trained and experienced psychologists who specialize in treating substance abuse and other mental health problems. Our totally confidential services are provided in private, discreet, well-appointed offices located in midtown Manhattan and in Princeton, NJ.
For executives, professionals, etc.
Our services are designed especially for high-functioning adults with demanding careers and busy schedules. Our clients include physicians, attorneys, business executives, and other competent individuals who want private, sophisticated care. We offer flexible appointment times (including day, evening, and weekend hours) to minimize interference with work and family responsibilities. And our clients can be assured that everything we do here is discreet and totally confidential!
Led by a well-known addiction specialist
Recovery Options is led by Dr. Arnold Washton, a widely recognized addiction psychologist and book author with a long track record of success in treating substance abuse and other addictive disorders.
What is the program?
Since we are a private practice, not a “one size fits all” program, we do not insist that every patient follow the same course of treatment. Instead, we offer a menu of different treatment options and we work together with our clients to develop personalized treatment plans that meet their individual needs. Treatment plans may consist of individual therapy only, group therapy only, or a combination of both individual and group therapy. Referrals for psychiatric medication, medical detoxification, and inpatient rehab are readily available, when needed.
How to get started
The first step is to request an appointment for the initial consultation. You can do so either by filling out the Contact Us form to the left or by calling our office in New York (212-944-8444) or New Jersey (609-497-0433). Once you have scheduled the appointment, please print out the New Patient Questionnaire, fill it out by hand, and bring it with you to the appointment.
Payment and Insurance
Our treatment services are provided exclusively on a self-pay basis. All fees are due at the time of service. Clients seeking insurance reimbursement can file claims on their own using the monthly statements we provide. We accept all major credit cards, personal checks, and cash.
